Indians End Volleyball Season at 12-12

Playoff Loss, Plus Senior Night, Closes Year

The Fairfield girls volleyball season has come to a close, as they fell Wednesday in the playoffs to Mason in four sets, 25-16, 21-25, 25-12, 25-9, at Lakota East. The Indians finished the year 8th in the Greater Miami Conference at 2-7, while going 12-12 overall including their two-game playoff run.

Senior Kennedy Ostendorf finished strong in the Mason match, leading both teams with 16 kills. She also had 16 assists and 8 digs. Junior Ashlyn Cline had 12 kills and 8 digs. Sophomore Reagan Draper had 7 kills. Junior Rose Rodriguez had 17 assists and 5 digs.

According to GMCsports.com, for the 2025 season, Ostendorf led the GMC in kills with 477, finished second in aces with 63, third in digs with 311, and tied for fourth in passes with an average of 2.04. In addition, junior Peyton Smith led the GMC in digs with 361, while Draper finished fifth in kills with 239.

The Indians, coached by Jessi Grimes, closed the regular season on Oct. 14 with a five-set loss to Oak Hills on Senior Night. Being honored that evening for their years of playing were seniors Ostendorf, Addison Borg, Mikee Lawson, Chloe McFarland, and Jayden Norman. A pregame ceremony introduced the girls with their bios over the PA system while they walked out with family members to center court.
