Congratulations to the girls' varsity golf team for closing out a 10-4 regular season with a Senior Night victory over GMC rival Colerain Sept. 29.

Seniors Captain Madison Baker, Chloe Cusick, Lakayla Morris, Ada Seppala, and Lindsay Oppelt all finished the season strong playing in their Walden Ponds Golf Club final match. They were accompanied by parents and relatives who acted as their caddies and fans.

Fairfield's one-two punch of Baker and Cusick, who were virtually tied in average this year, were named to the All-GMC 2nd team following the two-day GMC Championship golf tournament.

Said coach Corey Simmins, "Baker and Cusick's steady play have allowed one of them to be the medalists of every victory for the Lady Indians this year." The team finished in 7th place in the tourney, with Cusick and Baker finishing tied in 24th place.

Leading the squad for the season were Baker with 49.8 overall stroke average and Cusick (51). They were followed by junior Jordin Adam-Jones (57.2), Morris (58.3), freshman Lana Bowling (61.2), Oppelt (64.3), freshman Chloe Eilerman (65.9), and Seppala (71.9).

Also, with his 10th win of his career, rookie golf coach Simmins joked that he is "now only 545 victories behind legendary Fairfield softball Coach Brenda Stieger."
