Wrestlers Off to Strong Start

Girl Grapplers Defeat Lakota West in Dual Opener

The Fairfield girls wrestling team recently opened its dual match season, defeating Lakota West, 60-42, in the Arena. It was a comeback victory, as the Lady Indians lost the first several matches by pin.

However, the girls worked their way back into contention and eventually jumped into a solid lead with a quite a few pins of their own.

The squad, coached by Travis Taylor, wrestles next at 11 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 21, at the Lady Raiders Tournament at Reynoldsburg High School.

They will grapple twice more over Winter Break: Sunday, Dec. 28, at the Ross Invitational, and Sunday, Jan. 4, at the New Richmond Tournament.
