Girls soccer defeats West

Fairfield's girls soccer team started off Greater Miami Conference play in a great way Tuesday, defeating Lakota West 3-1.
 
The Indians were led by senior Leaha Compton, who scored two goals, and sophomore Ali Mangeot with one. Helping with the scoring were seniors Jael Neal and Sofia Rochetta, who each had one assist.

Fairfield – coached by Christian Johnson – is now 1-0 in the GMC and 2-1 overall. The Indians defeated Turpin, 3-0, to open the season, and then lost to Seton, 4-0.

The squad next hosts Walnut Hills today (Thursday) at 7:15 p.m. at Christy Rose Dennis Stadium. They play at Lakota East on Sept. 4, then begins a five-game homestand beginning Sept. 9 against archrival Hamilton.
