On Saturday (9/27) the JV Girls Tennis team participated in the annual Coaches Classic tournament. The JV team has 14 girls, and they were split between two teams (Fairfield A and Fairfield B). In the tournament was Fairfield's A and B team, as well as Harrison and Little Miami. 



This tournament was extremely close with Fairfield A scoring 15 points total, Little Miami scoring 14, Harrison scoring 14 and Fairfield B scoring 7. 

Fairfield A's first doubles team were on a roll, winning all 3 matches before any other courts. Because Junior Kiran Adhikari and Junior Sherlyn Hernandez won all three matches at first doubles they secured a quick first place title. Freshman Sarah Sheehy also won first place at the third singles position. Sarah showed a lot of fight, coming back from being down 4-7 to win her third match in a tiebreak. Also at the third singles position, Freshman Claire Chen placed second after only dropping one match to her teammate Sarah. Fairfield A's second doubles (Junior Haley Robbins and Sophomore Jada Gadson) had a tough first round match versus Harrison but bounced back to win their next two matches and finish second. 

Our team showed so much resilience and fight. Each player had a role in the win whether it was winning matches or cheering on their teammates. It was a great way to conclude our season and makes me so excited to see what this team holds for next season!
