Playoffs Begin Tonight for Girls Soccer

Seniors Saluted in Final Home Regular Season Game

The Fairfield girls soccer season is entering the endgame, as the Indians host a first-round playoffs match tonight at 7 p.m. at Christy Rose Dennis Stadium against GMC foe Lakota West. Fairfield defeated West, 3-1, back in September.

Fairfield finished third in the Greater Miami Conference during the regular season, going 6-2-1 and 9-4-3 overall.

In the Senior Night regular-season home closer on Oct. 9, the Indians honored their graduating players: Leaha Compton, Laila Jarrett, Jael Neal, Peyton Protzman, Sofia Rocchetta, Kaylie Sharman, Mackenzie Stroud, Daejah Wagers, Megan Himonidis, and Alyssa Hodge.

The girls, escorted by parents and family, walked across the field between a tunnel of undergraduates as their bios were read over the PA system. They tied Sycamore in the home finale, 1-1.

Tickets for tonight's game against Lakota West are $10 for adults, $5 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the gate for cash or credit, or online at www.ohsaa.org/tickets.
If the 4th-seeded Indians, coached by Christian Johnson, win tonight, they will play next at neutral site Lakota East against the winner of this evening's match between Centerville and Springfield.
