53rd Masanek Fairfield Invitational Recap

Mayhem on the Mats

The Indians hosted the Ron Masanek 53rd Fairfield Invitational last Saturday, finishing 12th out of 23 teams. Schools from all over the state, as well as schools from Indiana and Kentucky, wrestled all day on five mats at the Fairfield Arena.

The Indians, coached by Blair Wilcocks, finished with 87 team points. Helping run the tournament were a large number of returning alumni wrestlers.

Results:

Kaden Carter (157) and Jose Gonzalez (215) finished 4th in their weight categories.
Seneca Jackson (165) and Colton Sparks (175) finished 5th.
Losing in the consolation quarterfinals were Eli Guidugli (132) and Andrew Parker (150).
Losing in the 4th round of consolation was Dom Rubel (113).

The Indians next wrestle against Northwest at 5 p.m., Friday. Senior Night is Friday, Jan. 23, vs. Oak Hills.
