Play Ball! Home Opener for Tribe Softball

#FairfieldPride #OneTribe

Just like the Cincinnati Reds, it was Opening Day for the Fairfield Indians softball team Thursday.

The Tribe made a valiant effort, scoring 6 runs in the bottom of the last inning of its home opener, but, unfortunately, lost to Loveland, 14-11 (who scored 7 runs in the top of the 6th).

Leading the Indians with a strong day at the plate was senior Adelyn Huey, who was 3-for-3 at the plates, scored 3 runs, and had 2 RBI, plus a double and 2 bases on balls. Senior Aurora Wallace was 4-for-5 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. Senior Madi Miller and junior Korah Hill both scored 2 runs and had 2 RBI.

Fairfield, led by new coach Sam Wilson, is currently 0-2. The team next plays at Western Brown 3 p.m., Saturday, then returns to Fairfield at 5 p.m., Monday, March 30, to play Princeton.
